Land Recourses

Sintal has at its disposal 99 ths. ha of fertile agricultural land in Kharkiv and Kherson. The humus layer of the land, over which Sintal has a control, exceeds the average one across Ukraine by 30-50%. Quality black soils (“chernozems”) make up 80%-85% of the total company’s land.

Sufficient, in respect of agriculture, precipitation level and favourable for cropping average temperatures give opportunities for high yields in Kharkiv region.

Developed irrigation system that is owned by Sintal and high level of exposure to sun, enable the company to harvest two times per year in Kherson region.

Company follows the strategy of taking care of land resources, which means:

· Use of elaborated crop rotation

· Use of modern equipment and agricultural machinery that helps to protect land

· Use of modern fertilization and tilling methodologies, such as GPS mapping and No-Till farming

· Use of modern irrigation methodologies to protect land from washing-out

Sintal’s land quality evaluation, which was carried out by the specialists from ScottishAgriculturalCollege, confirmed that Sintal operates top-quality land, located in a favorable climatic area with a considerable potential for productivity improvement.
